Cold Mountain Hike: Saturday, October 24th (click here to enroll)

  • Wasena Park 1001 Winchester Avenue Southwest Roanoke, VA, 24015 United States (map)

Fall is the BEST time to explore the Appalachian Trail.

Cold Mountain (also called Cole Mountain) is located in George Washington National Forest. After a short one-mile hike, there is a unique “bald” meadow at the top that rewards hikers with a 360-degree panoramic view. You can bet that view will be even more beautiful with the fall colors! This is a great event for girls who are new to hiking or don’t love hiking long distances.

This event is designed and led by Wild Wayfarer Caroline Welfare, a Wild Way alumni with a love for the outdoors.

This event is open to girls ages 9 to 14.

TRANSPORTATION: Transportation is provided to this event. We will meet at Wasena Park at 9am and return by 2:30pm.

PAYMENT: The Wild Way’s activities are offered on a sliding scale fee. After filling out the application below, you will be directed to a site where you can make your preferred contribution amount. Our services are FREE to families in need. Please don’t hesitate to request a fee waiver.
