Wild West End Girls

Yesterday, we took our West End Center For Youth, Inc. girls to Spring Valley Farm for a horseback trail ride. First, we got to check out the exotic petting zoo (complete with a camel and zonkey!), and then we were each paired with a horse. After a short riding lesson in the ring, we hit the trails. A lot of the girls were pretty intimidated by the prospect of riding on top of these powerful animals and wanted to back out, but they mustered up the courage. After about an hour on horseback, everyone was feeling calm and comfortable—talk about seriously impressive. With the right mindset, we can always surprise ourselves!
