Champions for Youth Summit

This week, we were fortunate to participate in the Champions for Youth Summit, a conference that supports healthy lifestyles and futures for young people.

Hosted by Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth, some highlights included presentations by former Surgeon General of California and leading adverse childhood experiences (ACE) researcher Nadine Burke Harris, as well as happiness researcher and Harvard professor Dr. Arthur C. Brooks. We also met Richmond-based artist Hamilton Glass, who uses his murals to effect social change. We’re leaving with new connections, fresh ideas, and inspiration to help make our programs and the Roanoke Valley a better place for youth!
