Kayaking & Fishing: Tuesday, June 25th (click here to enroll)

  • Wasena Park 1001 Winchester Avenue Southwest Roanoke, VA, 24015 United States (map)

It’s o-FISH-ial…we’re going fishing with Beyond Boundaries and VA-Department of Wildlife Resources!

We’re loading up our kayaks for a day of fishing on the Maury River with Beyond Boundaries (a nonprofit that provides outdoor experiences to individuals with all abilities) and Game Warden Leslie Wright from VA-Department of Wildlife Resources. We’ll hone our kayaking skills, paddle through some light river rapids, and learn about the ins and outs of fishing. No paddling experience is necessary, but we do require that participants know how to swim. At this time, The Wild Way is enrolling girls ages 9 to 14.

TRANSPORTATION: Transportation WILL be provided to this event. You will drop-off your child at Wasena Park at 8:30am and pick her up at 4:00pm.

PAYMENT: The Wild Way’s activities are offered on a sliding scale fee. After filling out the application below, you will be directed to a site where you can make your preferred contribution amount. Our services are FREE to families in need. Please don’t hesitate to request a fee waiver.
