Self-Defense: Sunday, November 15th

  • Community Unify Roanoke 3656 Peters Creek Road Roanoke, Virginia, 24018 United States (map)

Learn ways to feel safe and CONFIDENT in the outdoors and in your community!

The Wild Way believes that women should feel empowered and safe while enjoying the outdoors. We’re working with Brittany Evans, a black belt in MMA, to hold an educational workshop on how to remain aware, alert, and in-control in the outdoors (and everywhere else!). Basic self-defense helps girls build the CONFIDENCE necessary to continue their outdoor interests into adulthood. This two hour lesson will introduce standup and ground techniques as well as the mindset of self-defense.

Brittany Evans is a black belt in MMA, training in forms such as Muy Thai and jiu jitsu with a focus in self-defense. Her martial arts journey started with a women’s self-defense course in 2015. She trained at Renaissance Academy of Martial Arts in Lynchburg, VA before moving to the Roanoke area in 2022. She is so excited to teach some self-defense techniques to women of all ages and ability levels!
