Would you like the rare opportunity to try FLY FISHING?
Fly fishing is a unique sport that requires skill, patience, and confidence. More specialized than baitcasting (i.e. regular fishing), fly fishing uses a lightweight, artificial lure called a “fly” to catch fish, which is artfully cast to mimic flying insects and macroinvertebrates.
This very special event is being led by experienced guides at the Wesley Hodges Fly Fishing Lodge on the James River. We’ll have a 1:2 instructor-to-participant ratio so the girls receive intensive instruction in this very technical sport. We’ll spend the evening camping and making s’mores next to the river before returning mid-day on Monday.
At this time, The Wild Way is enrolling girls ages 9 to 14.
TRANSPORTATION: Transportation WILL be provided to this event. You will drop-off your child at Wasena Park at 9am on Sunday, July 6th and pick her up at 12pm on Monday, July 7th.
PAYMENT: The Wild Way’s activities are offered on a sliding scale fee. After filling out the application below, you will be directed to a site where you can make your preferred contribution amount. Our services are FREE to families in need. Please don’t hesitate to request a fee waiver.
