GIVE Roanoke was a success!

Thank you to everyone who donated during The Wild Way's 2025 GIVE Roanoke campaign. We raised $2,569 - a record-setting GIVE Day for us. This money is going to help us get more in-need girls outside this summer and hold more exclusive events for our partners, like West End Center for Youth and Community Youth Program.

Thank you - every donation makes a difference!

Letting our creativity flow

In April, we explored our artistic side at Art on 1st studio in downtown Roanoke. Led by our Wild Wayfarer SoJo Haire, the girls learned about different art mediums and practiced techniques for illustrating common natural elements. Then they created a mini masterpiece featuring a cherished memory in nature.

We also visited Uttara Yoga Studio for an introduction to yoga flow, with some partner poses thrown in. We talked about what it means to be mindful and practiced mindful eating with some pineapple snacks. Finally, we finished up with a mala bead craft so that the girls could take a mindfulness strategy home with them.

Climbing season is HERE

The Wild Way is back outside and climbing! Join us at River Rock in the evening on Thursday, May 1st for a casual introduction to indoor climbing and bouldering.

If you're feeling comfortable and ready for a challenge, come with us on Saturday, May 3rd for some outdoor climbing with Beyond Boundaries at epic Raven's Roost.

Out & About in April

The Wild Way has been busy recently. Our staff re-certified their NOLS Wilderness First Aid training, made possible by the Roanoke City Parks & Recreation. Safety always comes first!

We also had the opportunity to support other local businesses and nonprofits, including Golden Cactus Brewing at their Earth Day Market on Wed, April 23rd. We also collaborate with Girls on the Run, another confidence-focused nonprofit for girls. We were honored to support at their 5K Race on Sat, April 26th and cheer on some of our Wild Way girls who also participate in GOTR.

Keep an eye out for us at the Tudor House's Paws for Mental Health Day on Sat, May 10th. Paws for Mental Health is a fun, family-friendly event focused on youth mental wellness, emotional support, and community connection, made even better with the attendance of some therapy dogs.
