Hiking in Bottom Creek Gorge

This past weekend, Wild Wayfarer Caroline Welfare planned and led a hike at Bottom Creek Gorge Preserve for this group of intrepid ladies.

It was a misty, mysterious morning on top of Bent Mountain. The leaves are finally starting to change, and the fog definitely made it feel like spooky season.

Over our 4 mile hike, we talked about the rare flora and fauna that led to the area becoming a nature preserve, ate lunch in front of the second tallest waterfall in the state, and even discovered a 100-year-old family graveyard.
