Exploring Self-Portrait

Yesterday was the perfect day to get cozy with a cup of hot cocoa and a paintbrush. We partnered with Canvas & Coffee Art Café to hold an “Exploring Self Portrait” event, which was led by Wild Wayfarer SoJo Haire. An experienced artist, SoJo demonstrated how to draw different facial features and then provided one-on-one support to get the girls started. We encouraged the girls to draw realistic self portraits or to get more abstract with their art and draw juxtaposing “inner” and “outer” selves. This event was made even more special, because Commonwealth Catholic Charities joined us with some of their girls who were able to experience their first taste of The Wild Way.
