2025 Fall Overnight
This past weekend, we held our annual Fall Camping trip next to the Jackson River in Covington. We demonstrated and practiced essential camping skills, like how to pitch a tent, build a fire, and even purify water from the river.
Since both physical and mental wellness are priorities for The Wild Way, we encourage limiting technology and being fully present in nature. At the beginning of the weekend, we required all of the girls to hand over their cell phones so we could ensure this would be a phone-free experience.
And guess what? Not a single girl asked for her phone all weekend. They were too busy living in the moment - working together to complete scavenger hunts, improvising games, and telling stories around the campfire. Imagination brings so much joy and empowerment, and we have to put the phones down to tap into it!
