Alison Matthiessen, Board Member

Alison Matthiessen is a Strategic Communications Project Manager at HDR, where she helps clients by turning complex technical concepts into approachable and meaningful communication. Previously, Alison held roles at a PR agency, a health technology company, and Virginia Tech. Her first job was a producer at a local television station in Roanoke. She's a double Hokie, earning her bachelor's and master's degrees from Virginia Tech.

Outside of work, Alison loves spending time with her family: husband, daughter (11 and Wild Way participant!), son (8), and dog (5-year-old retriever mix). She also enjoys reading, swimming, running, traveling, hiking, and being at the lake or ocean.
