Leigh Ann Hamlin, Board Chair

Leigh Ann holds a Masters in Counselor Education and has been working as a professional school counselor in the Roanoke Valley for over 10 years. She has worked as a high school counselor in Roanoke City Public Schools and a Success Coach for students navigating their way through Virginia Western Community College. She recently served as the Director of Counseling at North Cross School and was their Dean of Students. While at North Cross, she also taught Life Skills to 9th grade students. Topics of focus included healthy relationships, social media, stress, addiction and sexual health. She also worked closely with other middle and high school students to promote a positive social, emotional and academic environment. After working as a Relationship Manager for TherapyTravelers, she recently accepted the role of Director of Development for West End Center for Youth in Roanoke.

Throughout her years of working with students, Leigh Ann notably loves working with young women and girls. She believes in the importance of teaching girls at a young age to learn how to fully value themselves. In 2019, Leigh Ann became a certified facilitator for Embody Love Movement, an organization that resources everyone to reclaim beauty on their terms. Leigh Ann conducts workshops and camps to girls and young women within the area.

In her free time, you’ll find Leigh Ann riding her road bike up the Blue Ridge Mountains, exercising with friends, or running on the Roanoke greenway. You can also find her roaming the outdoors with her husband Jack and their two children, Grace and John Henry.
